Mustang Soccer Asks Danville Town Council Candidates about facilities for Youth Sports

Dear Mustang Community:
As you may already know, there are 7 candidates running for 3 seats available on the Danville Town Council. We (the Mustang Soccer League) cannot endorse any candidate, but would like to provide our member families with a flavor of the candidates' platform and show their support of youth sports by asking them to respond to the following question:
"What ideas do you have about how our community can develop andmaintain high quality facilities for its youth sports?

One of the most common complaints in muniland is over a lack of disclosure. Public officials often say too little too late about fiscal matters. That is why it was a pleasant surprise to come across the proactive response of Joseph Calabrigo, the town manager of Danville, California, toMoody’s announcementthat it is reviewing credit ratings associated with lease-backed and/or general obligation debts issued by 32 cities in California.

Congratulations to Eagle Scout Honorees Brian Smith & Shannon Leonard

At an Eagle Court of Honor held at the Town Meeting Hall, Mayor Arnerich presented proclamations on behalf of the entire Council to honorees Brian Smith and Shannon Leonard at a family sponsored event on Sunday afternoon.With over 100 attendees, Mayor Arnerich spoke of Brian's and Shannon's individual community service projects and their benefits to the community. In addition, each were presented an autographed book, Making a Difference, by home town hero Capt. 'Sully' Sullenberger, as a personal gift from the Mayor. Brian and Shannon are exemplary leaders with demonstrated skills well beyond their years. Congratulations to both on achieving this significant milestone and joining the ranks of a few select leaders.

Mayor Arnerich, Vice Mayor Robert Storer & Councilmember Mike Doyle endorsed Danville Commissioner Renee Morgan

Contra Costa Times editorial: "Arnerich, Doyle... for Danville Council. Danville leaders deserve credit for austerity that enabled the town to provide consistent service levels while many communities made severe cuts. To us, Councilmen Newell Arnerich and Mike Doyle have shown strong long-term financial leadership."
